The Hawaii Country Club’s course was built to preserve the naturally twisting landscapes of the underlying valley. Compared with many of the flatter golf courses on the island of Oahu, it has a uniquely landscape with many hills and valleys.
Within the course are about 200 natural Monkey Pod Trees, which is an important factor to consider when mastering the course. Since every hole is so rich in variety, playing at this challenging course will surely be an event to remember for a long time.
Accuracy and calmness are the keys to successful scoring, rather than long-range driving, since the overall distances are not very long. Although the greens may not be very fast (except at the newly renovated 16th and 17th holes), please do watch out for the slopes. If you only look at the grass without judging the slopes correctly, you can very easily putt 3 or 4 times.
As long as you watch out for the above points, this course can be enjoyed by a wide variety of players, beginners as well as advanced players, junior as well as senior players. A woman who knows the basics of golf, for example, can expect to get good scores. Making it a one of the best public courses on the island of Oahu.

The 16th & 17th Holes
These 2 holes have undergone extensive renovations and were reopened in January 1998. At the 16th hole (Par 5), you will enjoy the magnificent mountain-view from its spacious fairway. The high-speed undulated green at the 16th will present you with an exciting and tension-filled putt. At the 17th hole (Par 3), the refinement and character of this beautifully landscaped hole has made it the signature hole of our course. The 17th is rated very highly as a challenging and outstanding, short hole..
